Optical Sapphire Windows Description
Coligh sapphire windows are made of high-quality single crystal sapphire (α-Al₂O₃), combined with advanced crystal growth and precision processing technology, and are designed for harsh optical environments.
Core advantages and features:
- Full-band high light transmittance Spectral range covers 150nm (deep ultraviolet) to 6μm (mid-infrared), transmittance>85% (visible light band>90%), meeting the needs of multi-spectral system integration.
- Mohs hardness level 9, scratch resistance far exceeds glass, quartz and other materials, suitable for industrial environments with frequent dust and friction.
- Melting point 2050℃, can work stably for a long time below 1800℃ (nitrogen/inert gas environment), without thermal deformation or performance degradation.
- We provide flexible customized design for size and shape. It can be processed into round, square, polygonal and complex special-shaped structures, which can match the non-standard space design of medical endoscopes and military telescopes.
- Supports ultra-large specifications with a diameter of <1000mm (far exceeding the industry standard of 500mm), and supports integrated optical design of equipment such as astronomical telescopes and large lasers.
- We can also provide multi-functional processing, including but not limited to precision drilling, grooving, surface coating (anti-reflection film, filter film, etc.), engraving, polishing and other secondary processing services to meet special installation requirements.
- High-precision optical performance: Surface accuracy: RMS full aperture 13/60nm, parallel error 0.25”, surface quality 10/20
- Thin film Coating: Optional multi-layer broadband anti-reflection film, the transmittance of specific bands is increased to more than 99%.

Optical Sapphire Windows Applications
Sapphire is an ideal choice for high-end optical window materials. It is mainly used in the following areas:
Military and aerospace
- The high transmittance of sapphire windows in the 3-5μm mid-infrared band makes it the core window material for infrared imaging systems. It can withstand aerodynamic thermal shock >1000℃ in supersonic flight.
- In addition, its Mohs hardness is 9, which is lower than the particle impact in high-speed airflow, and is suitable for marine environments such as carrier-based aircraft.
- In addition, its radiation resistance can also ensure the imaging accuracy of space telescopes and other equipment under extreme temperature differences.
Industry and scientific research
- Sapphire windows have always been the output windows of CO₂ lasers (10.6μm) and ultraviolet laser processing equipment. It can also be used for ultra-high pressure observation windows and semiconductor manufacturing.
- As a window for etching and CVD equipment, it can ensure the stability of process monitoring.
Medical and biotechnology
- In laser medical equipment and endoscopic imaging, sapphire windows can maintain long-term stability and support 4K resolution transmission
In special environment sensing
- such as oil exploration, nuclear industry, deep-sea exploration, etc., it can be used as a protective window and observation window for sensors, supporting multi-spectral imaging
